On the 11th of May 2024 our Ambassador Nicolas Iten broke the Pumpfoiling World Record pumping over 2:39 hours on Sempach Lake with the new Indiana Condor XL Foil
Check out his story:
Since I started pumpfoiling last summer, I had the dream, to pump as long as possible. As a former European Champion in Marathon on Inline-Speedskates, my goal was all winter long to pump that distance nonstop. I was waiting longtime for the right moment, because I need good weather and the right equipment (
Condor XL wing) too.
I woke up (after a nervous sleep) at 6am and took a big breakfast. At 8am I met the TV to film the warmup. One hour later I started under sunny weather and a calm lake of Sempach in Sursee. After having done small laps in the bay for TV I started my run around the lake. At the beginning there was no wind and the water was reflecting, that made it a bit difficult to estimate the hight of my board.

I focused on every leaf in the water. Every kilometer I checked my heartfrequency and my speed, all was ok. Some rowing athletes were cheering, that motivated me. After 17km and 1:17hour I was back at the startpoint and I felt good. More and more the wind increased and made it a bit harder to pump. My water of my backpack was finised after 23km, than my wife handed over a bottle of water. 13km later and the third handed over of water, I felt a little unstable (my legs were a bit tired too). As a result of this, I couldn`t get the bottle safely and lost my balance.
Nevertheless I was happy to pump that distance, even it was not a Marathon.
The Condor XL was developed by the Indiana Foil Design Team together with Jérôme Baudoux to enable exactly these types of records. We are extremly pround this achievment and congratulate Nicolas on his world record, and hopefully completing the complete rounding of the lake soon
