The Stabilizer’s job is to level and stable flight. Think of it as your suspension. Conditions and user preference may vary and change what stabilizer angle feels the best. 

Shimming changes the angle of attack and controls the amount of pitch and roll stability the stabilizer creates on the overall foil system.

The Indiana Carbon Fuselage comes with a standard 1° Angle built in and to allow you to increase the stability and front foot pressure the kit is delivered with 3 shims. +.5°, +1° and +2°. The higher the Angle of attack, the more stable the Foil will be.
